Insulated Sectional Garage Doors

A sectional garage door is made up of individual panels connected by hinges. It opens vertically and slides along the ceiling, maximising both drive-through height and width while requiring minimal external space. This smart design not only enhances convenience but also provides robust security and long-lasting durability, making it a sound long-term investment.

At The Garage Door Company, we are proud to be the exclusive provider of the market-leading Evo 45. This advanced sectional door features a thermal break that delivers exceptional heat insulation for improved energy efficiency all year round.

What can you expect?

A sectional garage door is lightweight and easily opens vertically like a standard garage door. It does not ‘pull’ away from the garage like an up and over door, and will open even when a car is parked close to it. You will gain three feet of opening space compared to a standard door.

Our innovative manufacturing techniques and quality components ensure our sectional doors are both robust and secure. They are made from individually crafted sections connected using well-made hinges.

Garages are practical spaces, so we build insulation into our sectional garage doors to help keep outside noise low and your energy bills down.

Sectional Garage Door FAQs

Sectional garage doors are designed to maximise space. They open vertically and slide along ceiling tracks, meaning no outward swing is required. This makes them ideal for short driveways or where vehicles are parked close to the garage, as they don’t require additional clearance in front.

For sectional doors the equation to calculate how far back the tracks go into your garage is the opening height + 620mm for Extension Sprung and Front Mounted Torsion Springs and opening height + 750mm for Rear Mounted Torsion Springs. Our surveyors will be able to confirm this during our free on site survey.

Maintenance for sectional garage doors is generally straightforward. Occasional lubrication of hinges and rollers, along with periodic inspection of the track system and seals, is typically all that’s required. High-quality models are built to last and perform reliably with minimal upkeep.

Yes, sectional garage doors are highly regarded for their durability, insulation, and space-saving design. They provide excellent weather protection, improved security, and a sleek, modern look. With a range of materials and styles available, they suit both traditional and contemporary homes.

Absolutely. Our insulated sectional garage doors are made from double-skinned, hot galvanized steel sections with CFC-Free PUR rigid foam core, available in both 20mm and 45mm thick insulation, which provides top sound-proofing and excellent heat insulation, keeping the cold out and the warmth in. This helps regulate temperatures inside the garage, reduce energy use, and block out external noise, making them ideal for attached garages or multi-purpose spaces.

Yes, our sectional garage doors include many safety features such as anti-pinch panels that prevent fingers from being caught. Alongside this our safety edge sensor, that is provided with all our sectional doors, stops and reverses if the door detects an obstacle.

Our sectional garage doors have a semi-gloss finish, with an approximate gloss level of 40–50%. This provides a subtle sheen that sits between a matt and high-gloss finish, offering a smart, modern appearance without being overly shiny.

Please note that the appearance of the finish may vary slightly depending on lighting conditions and your chosen colour. All our surveyors are equipped with samples that they can show to you if you go ahead with a free on site survey.
Yes! Our sectional garage doors do have U-Values that indicate their level of thermal insulation and energy efficiency.

However, the exact U-Value can vary depending on several factors, including the door type (20mm or 45mm), overall width and height, and whether your chosen design includes windows or glazing options.

Generally, a lower U-value indicates better thermal insulation, helping to reduce heat loss and maintain a more comfortable temperature inside your garage.

If thermal efficiency is an important factor when choosing your new garage door, our friendly team will be happy to advise you on the available options and provide the relevant U-value information for your chosen door specification after our survey or quotation has been conducted.

Yes, in order to control your sectional garage door from your smart phone you will need Homematic IP, the SmartHome control centre of the respective system and the plug-on module- or WIFI module to connect the operator. The WIFI module is sufficient for Amazon Alexa and Google Home. You can use these SmartHome systems for the intelligent control of garage door openers from Cardale (VertiPort®, Cardale 443, Cardale 573 S). All apps are available free of charge in the App Store for Apple and Android devices. Once the app has been installed, the solution can be set up quickly and intuitively on your smartphone. Additional costs for the WIFI module / plugin are required
